Backstory

Not much is known about Lachelle's past other than that she's overcome quite a bit of struggle and strife to get to where she is today. It has hardened her and made her a stern person. She is unwilling to give much detail to her history or any reason why she doesn't want to bring it up. Secrets and information are something she takes seriously and isn't willing to give out freely.

What is known is some years ago she suddenly appeared in the Brume of Ishgard in search of men and women with a talent for finding and keeping secrets as well as the art of stealth and subtlety. With these recruits she forged for herself a small but influential guild of spies called the Eyes of Truth. They made their wealth in information and secrets, hired by people of all class and good or bad intention. There is no secret that Lachelle or her group of 'shadows' can't find out and will not hesitate to use any means necessary to get their information. They hold a strict 'don't ask don't tell' policy with their clients.

As the master of the Eyes of Truth Lachelle has made a name and reputation for herself, viewed as a woman neither good nor evil. Recently however her guild has expanded to accept contracts of death, expanding their options into the assassination business. This has cast a slightly more sinister light upon the Viera but so long as there is gil to be made she cares little what others think of her and her 'business ventures'. Thus far the group is quite successful in their new line of business, the stealth and subtly perfected by being spies well put to use now as murderers. Their policy of privacy and their efficiency has them highly regarded among the shady.

Currently the guild is still going strong and has greatly expanded its network over the years. Though the root of the guild is founded in Ishgard they had established small posts in all of the major cities of Eorzea and have several small businesses that serve as fronts for their options. One such place in The Pink Pillow B&B in the Mist, serving as their Limsa contact location. Similar places exist in other populated locations, reaching even to Kugane. Chel herself spends most of her time at the Isgard base running things. But she has been known to take on a mission or two personally as a means to keep her skills sharp and get a break from the endless paperwork.

Personality

Lachelle is a woman who is confident, stern, and very influential. As a spy master she commands a guild of spies and assassins with a tight fist, not one to accept mistakes or accidents from her recruits. She has a head for business and always puts money and power before anything else. She has stepped on many people to get to where she is today and will continue to do so if necessary. It is best suggested that you stay out of her way lest you find yourself in quite a bit of trouble.

Trained as a dancer for fighting Chel has a good wield of her chakrams and is light on her feet in combat. It is clear she has seen years of combat in her past and knows how to control and shift a battlefield to her advantage. She enjoys finding someone with skills on par or better to her own for challenging duels and/or to hire onto her recruits if she deems them suitable enough. She always carries her weapons with her and keeps one eye looking over her shoulder in caution. She has made many enemies in her line of work, you never know when one will jump you.

On a personal side Chel can be a bit of a hard read. She is well composed when it comes to her emotions and is not keen on giving them away quickly. Often you will be met with a stern or calm face no matter what is truly bubbling inside of her. She can be patient and courteous but also be demanding and vicious depending on the situation. Being a woman who works in information and secrets she can be very manipulative, leaving you never quite knowing if she is telling the truth or a lie. But she is very informative and if you pay enough gil she'll tell you everything that you want to know.

So consumed by her work Lachelle cannot confidently say that she has many friends. She has business associates aplenty, but not many people actually close to her. It is difficult to become part of her inner circle given how mistrusting and wary she can be. But should you find yourself endeared to her you will have a powerful friend at your side. She cares deeply for those close to her, and even for her guildmates, she just has difficulty showing it.

Romance wise she likewise has had little time for love. She has had plenty of lovers and casual flings but no one that she can truly say that she was in a relationship with. She is not objected to the idea however, though slim the chances seem to her. Should that right person come along she won't turn them away. Until then she suffices with her casual romances and flirting with handsome men and women.

Hooks

RECRUITS Can be hired on to her spy guild as a spy/informant, or an assassin. She is a demanding boss but also rewards her recruits abundantly for a job well done, particularly for big secrets or assassinations. Guild recruits are treated like family and they all must look out for one another. Chel, though the spy master, is not above eating with her guild mates and chatting or joking around with them.

FORMER RECRUITS Possibly someone who used to work for her but no longer does. She is wary of people who leave her guild and will threaten them with death should they tell any of the guild's secrets. Suffice to say people very rarely will walk away from the guild.

BUSINESS ASSOCIATES Someone who has employed her guild in the past or the present to do some information seeking or killing. She strictly treats these people in a professional manner and should they not pay her for the work that is done, they will find themselves then a target until they cough up the gil. If it is a long time business associate then she may become more casual with them over time.

TARGETS Someone she possibly is hired to extract information from or worse, to kill. She is typically very cold and goal-focused when it comes to these people. They are just a means for her to make money and nothing more. She will only stay her hand if the target ends up being a child. Otherwise she will not hesitate.

CLOSE FRIENDS There are very very few of these in Lachelle's life. This could be a spy in her guild who has been there from the start or a business associate she has known for a very long time and become familiar with. She holds people in her inner circle very close and dearly to her, being the very few she is actually loyal to. But she expects you to do the same for her. It is a give and take relationship.

CASUAL LOVERS She has had plenty of these over the years. Often these may be recruits in her guild or just random people in town. She does not sleep with business associates and will only sleep with a target if it will yield her the information she needs. She keeps things casual in these flings and is clear that they are not relationships. She openly has flings with both males and females of every race but Lalafell.

TRUE LOVER Chel has yet to find herself that one person that she can see herself falling in love with and dedicating herself to. But she is not objected to the potential of it in the future. While she does not actively seek out this sort of romance, should it suddenly blossom she will not try to push it away.

ENEMIES People that she has betrayed or harmed in the past, be it for information or assassinating one of their loved ones. She is very aware she has enemies and is wary, always on her toes keeping an eye out for someone who might be after her for revenge. Enemies will not be met unprepared typically and she will fight.
